Creating a unique value
Founded in 2003, Typerepublic shows an exclusive collection of typefaces. Some of the typefaces are based on the Iberian typographic tradition and they are, in turn, products of a contemporary view of our local history.
In addition to our exclusive retail typefaces, Typerepublic offers custom font design that responds to customer needs and identity requirements. It offers any type design solutions, from desktop to web fonts.
Some of the fonts in the catalog have been awarded several
Certificate of Excellence in Type Design given by the Type Directors Club in New York and the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI).
Barcino
Barcino is an elegant sans-serif typeface, inspired by the geometric forms and rational style of 1930s typography. Its clean and balanced design evokes the modernist aesthetics of Bauhaus and constructivism, where precise proportions and uniform strokes create a sober yet bold appearance. The name “Barcino” pays tribute to the ancient Roman name for Barcelona, connecting its classical essence with a contemporary typographic approach. Ideal for branding and editorial design projects, Barcino combines the strength of geometric shapes with timeless modernity..
Riojana
Riojana is a family text typeface commissioned by the Government of La Rioja Autonomous Community, Spain.
It is a humanistic sans serif designed to be used for any institutional government communication, for both print and screen media.
Type Design Process
Barna is a typeface intended for long-running reading text. Its simple and rational flavour makes it appropriate for technical literature content. Barna family includes a large stylistic set of variants, including condensed weights and a stencilled display style (Barna stencil) that provides an urban feeling to the family.

Barna Stencil was the perfect typeface and it became a distinctive asset for the brand.”
